The new Chief Executive of Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust, Tony Bell, started at the hospital on Monday 3 September.

Tony Bell has over 30 years of experience in the NHS and joins Chelsea and Westminster Hospital from Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen Hospital where he was Chief Executive since 2007.

Tony Bell says: “I am extremely proud to be joining the team at Chelsea and Westminster. The Trust has a reputation as one of the best hospitals in the country and I am looking forward to building on that reputation, continuing to improve our services and providing the highest quality care for our patients.”

Tony Bell joins Chelsea and Westminster Hospital at a pivotal time for the Trust. The hospital is currently in the midst of the ‘Shaping a healthier future’ consultation run by NHS North West London which will designate ‘major hospitals’ with full A&E services.

Tony Bell continues: “I am delighted to be here at Chelsea and Westminster. The strong link between Chelsea and Westminster and the community we serve has never been more important than at this time when the future of the hospital is at stake.”

Aside from the Shaping a healthier future consultation, there are many exciting projects underway at the hospital including the building of a new Diagnostic Centre to bring together key diagnostic services in the hospital and a new Midwifery-Led Unit in Maternity which will enable an additional 1,000 women a year to have their babies at Chelsea and Westminster.
