The Council of Governors represent their constitutional members which include patients, the public and staff. By becoming a member you can vote for your local Governor who will ensure that your views are heard. You can also nominate yourself in Governor elections, and represent your local area or constituency.

Membership is a good way to keep in touch!
We will inform you of planned activities within the hospital through frequent updates. You will receive two issues each year of the Trust magazine, Trust News, an invitiation to the Annual Members’ Meetinh and annual Open Day, and if you include your email when you register we will send you additional information such as ‘Meet a Governor’ sessions and more. Members are also sometimes asked for their views on developments in the hospital.
The Council of Governors are always looking at ways to improve the patient experience and would like to talk with you about your views. Governors attend the quarterly Council of Governors meetings and other special committees where Governors can present members’ views and encourage changes to be made. Governors communicate with the hospital’s Chairman to ensure issues are taken seriously.
Membership is completely free—it’s a great way to get involved in the running of your hospital.
