Teaching, reflection and research
The chaplaincy multi-faith team is committed to on-going learning (two of the chaplains have studied for a masters degree in healthcare chaplaincy while working in the Trust) and reflection about the value of spiritual care in the healthcare setting as well as offering teaching on pastoral, religious and spiritual care to staff within and beyond the Trust.
Team members participate in a monthly Reflective Practice Seminar (each quarter one of these is held jointly with the chaplaincy teams from the Royal Marsden and the Royal Brompton Hospitals) and a brochure of the programme is available from the chaplaincy.
In 2006 the department conducted quantitative research into patient satisfaction with the chaplaincy and in 2010 a piece of action research to improve the quality of its service.
