The Sanctuary—a multi-faith prayer room or quiet room currently arranged to facilitate Muslim devotions but available to everyone—and the Chapel—with a Christian altar, stained glass windows and Veronese’s masterpiece The Resurrection but again available to all—are spaces of refuge and refreshment, offering you a place for peace and quiet reflection.

You and your visitors are welcome to use these spiritual places at any time during your stay. Both prayer spaces are places of quiet and reflection for all.

• Non-urgent requests, which can be dealt with within the next 48 hours, can be left on voicemail at x58083—this is checked several times during the normal working day
• For urgent requests please dial 07659 140 566 (preceded by 9 of you are dialling on the hospital system) to page the on-call Chaplain. Please provide the operator with your name, request, and—most importantly—your phone number and the on-call Chaplain will call you back to deal with your request. Note: always go through the on-call Duty Chaplain whether the Chaplain you need is Muslim, Jewish, Christian etc. The On-call Chaplain will contact the appropriate person on your behalf.
• If you have problems paging the on-call Chaplain, dial ‘0’ and speak to the switchboard operator who can advise you
• A member of the team is always available, 24hrs a day, 7 days a week.
