Foundation programme for new doctors
Introduction
Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides high quality clinical care for patients in a modern environment.
Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, which is located on Fulham Road, London, SW10, opened in 1993 and provides a full range of services for people living locally as well as a number of clinical specialties for patients from further afield including HIV/GUM, Burns, Intensive Care and Paediatric A&E.
The Care Quality Commission ranked both the quality of our services and our financial management as Excellent when annual performance ratings for every NHS trust in England were published in October 2009—we are rated in the top 9% of NHS trusts nationally.
We also achieved Foundation Trust status in October 2006 which gives us more freedom to invest in services.
We opened a new sexual health and HIV centre in the heart of Soho—56 Dean Street—in March 2009 and we are currently redeveloping the main Chelsea and Westminster Hospital site to improve and enhance the patient environment for our specialist services of paediatrics and sexual health and HIV.
