A&E waiting times
We treated 108,000 patients in the A&E Department at Chelsea and Westminster—including our Urgent Care Centre—in 2010/11.
That means that staff in A&E treat on average 300 patients a day.
The Urgent Care Centre, which opened in October 2010, is a ‘walk-in’ service developed with local GPs for patients who come to A&E with minor illnesses and injuries that require attention but are not critical or life-threatening.
The Department of Health has set a target for 98% of A&E patients to be seen, treated and either admitted to hospital or discharged from hospital within 4 hours.
Details of our performance against this target will be published on this website on a monthly basis.
