18 weeks patient pathway
The national standard is for 95% of non-admitted patients (eg outpatients) and 90% of admitted patients (eg inpatients and patients treated as day cases) to receive treatment within 18 weeks.
These are known as referral to treatment (RTT) waiting times.
The latest national statistics on RTT waiting times published by the Department of Health are for January 2012.
