Our team is made up of 26 Chartered Physiotherapists. We are highly skilled in the assessment and management of musculoskeletal conditions, and are all registered with the Health Professions Council.

Our team includes 6 Extended-Scope Practitioner Physiotherapists (ESPs) who are highly specialised physiotherapists. They run clinics alongside some of the hospital consultants including Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and the Pain Service. We also have close links with Podiatry, Hand Therapy and Women's Health services.

A number of our clinicians have won awards related to physiotherapy care and published articles in peer-reviewed healthcare journals.

We offer rapid access to a variety of services to help you get back to your full abilities including physiotherapy, exercise groups, manual therapy, self-help advice, acupuncture, and hydrotherapy.

For those with more complex needs we can request investigations directly and refer you to relevant services, all without you needing to make another appointment with your GP.

Our pathways of care have been jointly designed by therapists and hospital consultants and are continually updated as new research becomes available.

Our team is predominantly based in the Therapy Department at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital but we also offer community-wide services at Health Centres throughout Kensington and Chelsea.

How can I access the service?

GP referrals

You can access our community-wide musculoskeletal physiotherapy service (via GP referral) if your GP Practice is within Kensington and Chelsea.

Consultant referrals

You can access our hospital-based musculoskeletal physiotherapy service if you have been referred to us by a Chelsea and Westminster Consultant Team.

We can also offer you a more local alternative, where available, if you live too far from the hospital to travel to physiotherapy appointments.

Occupational Health

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital employees can now be referred to physiotherapy for any musculoskeletal problem via Occupational Health, their manager or their GP.

We also offer Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy for staff employed by The Royal Marsden Hospital, The Royal Brompton Hospital and Imperial College London (via referral from your Occupational Health Service).
