About the weight loss surgery service
Chelsea and Westminster Hospital has been providing weight loss surgery since the hospital opened in 1993.
We perform more than 250 procedures a year as part of a holistic approach to assessing and treating patients.
All patients undergo assessment by a multi-disciplinary team of staff and we follow National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) criteria to assess patients’ suitability for surgery.
Surgery is part of a multi-disciplinary service including pre-operative and ongoing post-operative support which means that patients are supported every step of the way.
