General Surgery
The General Surgical and Urology unit offers a full range of assessment, treatment and follow up for a wide range of surgical and urological disorders and procedures.
All consultants have extensive general surgical and urological experience coupled with strong interests in several specialist fields which include colorectal cancer, diseases of the salivary glands, vascular surgery, minimally invasive surgery, prostate cancer, prolate bladder cancer and general urology.
A multidisciplinary approach is adopted in all areas of surgery and all specialties are supported by physicians, endoscopy, intensive care, stoma therapy, dieticians and physiotherapists.
The service provides a 24-hour support to the Accident and Emergency Department and patients can be referred directly to an appropriate outpatient clinic if necessary.
There is a specialist Urological one stop rapid diagnostic clinic which, uses the latest technology and has dedicated nursing provision. The clinic specialises in the management of urinary tract stones, patients with haematuria and diseases of the prostate.
