Gynaecological cancers

What we do

We offer a range of diagnostic and assessment services (such as colposcopies and biopsies) and care for women with gynaecological cancers—these include cervix, uterine, ovarian and vaginal cancers. We also run a Rapid Access Clinic which aims to see every patient with suspected gynaecological cancer within two weeks of referral, this is part of our overall Gynaecology Service.

Our approach is supported by a multidisciplinary team that meets weekly to discuss and plan individualised patient care. Women requiring specialist care will be referred to one of our local neighbouring cancer centres, such as The Royal Marsden Hospital or Hammersmith Hospital.

Our clinical nurse specialists support women with suspected or diagnosed gynaecological cancer from the early stages of investigation right through to treatment, survivorship and, if needed, palliative support. They also act as links between everyone involved in each woman’s care – doctors, nurses, family members and carers.

Our team

The team at Chelsea and Westminster is led by Miss Jane Bridges and Isabel Pigem, and at West Middlesex by Mr Fateh Raslan—all are consultant gynaecologists with a special interest in gynaecological oncology. The clinical nurse specialist (also called a key worker) at Chelsea and Westminster is Rachel Perfect.
