Treatments

What we do

Both hospitals offer a wide range of cancer treatment including surgery, chemotherapy and a number of the latest biological treatments. Although neither site has radiotherapy facilities, we have close links with local cancer centres such as The Royal Marsden, to deliver radiotherapy treatment. We also provide complementary therapies for cancer patients and their carers, including massage, reflexology and aromatherapy.

Cancer surgery

We carry out hundreds of operations each year on cancer patients, including:

For lung cancer and other specialist surgeries we work with local cancer centres including Charing Cross, Hammersmith, Northwick Park, the Royal Brompton and the Royal Marsden hospitals.

Chemotherapy

We know that having chemotherapy can be daunting, but we will do our best to make you as comfortable as possible, ensure you know exactly how it works and can ask any questions. Although some chemotherapy can be given as tablets that you can take at home, most drugs will need to be given directly into your bloodstream, which needs to happen at a hospital clinic.

When you attend for chemotherapy we will need to do some tests and ask you some questions to make sure you are well enough to have your treatment on that day. You will be able to go home afterwards and we will ensure you know how to contact us and that you have any additional medication that you may need.
