Cancer support and information
Based at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, our award-winning Macmillan Centre has been open to the public since 2003 and our aim is to support the cancer patient and their family throughout every stage of their cancer journey. In a recent survey (2011), 100% of our visitors described our services as "Excellent" or "Good".
Located in the Medical Day Unit (Ground floor, Lift D), The Centre offers information, support and complementary therapies to anybody affected by cancer—this includes patients, carers and family.
The Centre welcomes around 3,000 visitors each year and offers information and support with anything related to cancer including diagnosis, treatments, palliative care as well as financial issues, benefits and relationship problems.
The Macmillan Centre is stocked with over 200 titles of free information and offers reflexology, massage and aromatherapy complementary therapies. Additionally, we now have a satellite service located in the brand new "Ron Johnson Ward (2nd floor, Lift B).
The Centre also offers a bereavement service in partnership with Cruse Bereavement Care.
Referrals
The Centre is open for drop in access from 10am–4pm, Monday to Friday. Referrals will be accepted for local people for both cancer or bereavement support from GPs.
