I feel it is important to say that the service at the West London Centre is not only vital, but it is an excellent service.  From the moment I arrived I was looked after, made to feel welcome and comfortable, and relaxed about discussing my concerns. The tests were also conducted professionally and with great kindness. I can't tell you how pleased I am about this service and I am so impressed with the personnel.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to the team at Victoria Clinic. I have been a patient there for a number of years and have always been impressed by service I have received.


The doctor who spoke to me was professional and seemed concerned for a good outcome for me. Everyone was swift, professional, friendly, and I felt well treated as a patient.


Really good—I got a same-day appointment. Both the doctor and the nurse were friendly, kind and helpful. I felt I was treated as a human being. They are really excellent and made a difficult visit even enjoyable.


I wanted to comment on the efficiency and excellent quality of the Victoria Clinic for HIV and sexual health. I was surprised to be given an appointment in only two days and within a time that suited my work commitments. Also, the treatment by the health advisers was excellent. I had visited the clinic in December 2005 and since then I've seen incredible improvements on [an] already very good standard.


I have been to the Victoria Clinic twice now and have nothing but praise for the staff. They have all been professional, while being friendly and reassuring—two qualities unfortunately lacking in my GP at my local surgery. Everyone at Victoria from the reception staff to the doctors and nurses are extremely helpful and put you at ease. Please do pass on these comments as I'd like the staff to know that their efforts and attitude to their job is very much appreciated by their patients.


I would like to stress the kindness and efficiency of this whole service, from the first telephone contact to the very end of the test. It is fantastic and professional.


Fantastic, professional, on-time service for each of my three visits. I travel across on my bike from East London to go to the Victoria Clinic due to my confidence in the service. If all centres across London and the UK were of this standard we'd have much better sexual health statistics. Other centres compare very badly.


I came here in 2005 and commented on how good the service was. This time it was even better. Next day appointment, extremely punctual, friendly and empathetic staff. Fantastic—keep up the high standards.


Truly everyone was very nice today—positive, attentive and caring.

John Hunter Clinic

I am always ready to complain and to criticise when it seems necessary. But I also believe in saying thank you and giving praise when it is deserved. Yesterday I had a HIV test at John Hunter Clinic. It was my first (and I am 78). It was done by a health adviser called [name removed] and he was absolutely brilliant. He sat me down and explained in detail what the test involved, enquired into my circumstances and asked what support I would have if I tested positive. His bedside manner was first class. He put me at ease and could not have been more professional, friendly [and] supportive. If the rest of your staff are as good as [name removed] you must lead a truly remarkable team. Congratulations, many thanks and all good wishes.


I have been attending the John Hunter Clinic every year for the last 15 years to carry out a sexual health screening and have always received a good service. Everybody was very friendly, competent and highly professional.


Its nice to see smiley faces and not miserable people at reception. John Hunter Clinic is the best clinic I've been to.


I recently had to use your facilities and just want to note that the staff were excellent. Unfortunately I realise most visits to these types of clinic are fraught with all kinds of prejudice and misconceptions and I can't thank you enough for setting up a clinic that has terrific front office staff as well as doctors and nurses. Thank you very much for making quite an unpleasant experience healthwise as painless, unembarrassing and helpful as possible.


I was amazed at the efficiency and speed with which I was seen. I had a delightful nurse who answered all my irritating questions and was in and out in 40 minutes—I was expecting a two hour wait. Huge thanks.


May I pass on my thanks and appreciation for the excellent service I received today at the John Hunter Clinic? In particular are one young doctor and a nurse who had an excellent manner. They were relaxed, polite, explained things clearly and were non-judgmental. Well done.


I thought I would write to document my thanks to Kobler and John Hunter staff for their continued care, good humour and unstinting professionalism in my experience of them.


I just wanted to say what I thought [about] my visit to the John Hunter Clinic last week. I thought all members of staff were helpful, friendly and professional. I even felt quite patriotic to be a citizen of a country that provides such an A1 service.


The staff at John Hunter were phenomenal. Every single person I dealt with—the reception, the doctors, the sexual health consultant and, in particular, my outstanding nurse—approached me with exceptional care and outstanding human touch. I do not know what kind of remuneration the staff of John Hunter are on but they are worth their weight in gold, each and every one of them.


Last week I was extremely distressed about my relationship break-up and the sudden realisation that my health may have been compromised by my newly ex partner. A nurse [name removed] and a healthcare adviser [name removed] made the entire experience so much easier to cope with and move on from. Their friendly approach and caring natures helped me so very much. Thank you to everyone at the John Hunter Clinic.

Kobler Clinic

I can only say the doctors and care volunteers and nurses and reception staff of the Kobler Clinic and Thomas Macaulay ward are the most kind and supportive people I have had the pleasure to meet. For people living with HIV they are little angels to us all.


Today I used the walk-in service at the Kobler as I was in a lot pain for no obvious reason. As has always been my experience with the Kobler, no money could buy a better, more professional or more courteous service. I am therefore writing just to say thank you and to make you aware of just how much I appreciate all that you guys do for us HIV patients.


I was a walk-in patient of Kobler Clinic [and] would like to place on record my appreciation for all staff both at the walk-in clinic and the Kobler Day Care. Dr [name removed] was not only particularly attentive but was extremely thorough in her explanations. Furthermore, I noticed high standards of hygiene at all times. In an age where it can be commonplace to complain about poor service I think it is equally important to recognise excellent service.

Ron Johnson Ward (previously Thomas Macaulay Ward)

The staff at the Thomas Macaulay ward are fantastic—attentive and caring, without being intrusive. Every good word in the book.


In addition to the outstanding treatment received from the doctors and medical team on the ward, I was also privileged to receive the highest level of professional care from the nursing team. Throughout my stay on the ward I was overwhelmed by the love, care and deep concern exhibited by all the nursing staff and the whole holistic approach to my care and condition displayed by everyone. I do wish to reiterate my heartfelt thanks and deepest admiration for the work that is being performed on this very special ward.


I can only say the doctors and care volunteers and nurses and reception staff of the Kobler Clinic and Thomas Macaulay ward are the most kind and supportive people I have had the pleasure to meet. For people living with HIV they are little angels to us all.
