Booked bloods appointments
We now provide a booked appointment system for blood tests if you usually attend for blood tests before your appointment.
We have introduced this sytem to reduce bottlenecks and to ensure a more streamlined service for both those patients who attend for pre-clinic bloods and patients who have blood tests done on the day of their appointment.
Please call the Call Centre to arrange an appointment if you wish to attend for pre-clinic bloods.
Important changes to routine blood tests
In line with upcoming changes to the national guidelines, we have reviewed the frequency of routine blood tests within the clinic. You will notice some changes to the routine tests you normally have.
These changes are as follows:
|CD4 count||Viral load||Full blood count, cholesterol, glucose and hepatitis tests|
|Patients on antiretroviral therapy and CD4 count of more than 300||Yearly||Every 6 months||Yearly|
|Patients not on antiretroviral therapy||Every 6 months||At diagnosis and prior to starting antiretroviral therapy||Yearly|
Please be aware that our new blood tests are not rigid and there will be occasions when we will be required to do extra tests (including CD4 count and viral load) which are not part of our routine sets. If you require non-routine tests, please ensure that you ask your regular clinician to request these at your appointment and these will be done at clinician's discretion.
Please speak with your doctor or nurse if you have any questions about this.
Asymptomatic sexual health screening
If you wish to have a routine sexual health screen, this can now be done in the Kobler clinic.
Please book an appointment by calling the appointment line on 020 3315 6699 and ask to be booked into the Nurse Clinic.
