Services by appointment only

  • Testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs/STDs)
  • HIV testing and follow-up care for patients who are living with HIV
  • Contraception:
    • Intrauterine devices (Mirena or copper coils)
    • Depo provera injections
    • Implants—insertion and removal
    • Oral contraceptive pills
    • Vaginal ring
    • Contraceptive patches
    • Pregnancy testing
  • Safer sex advice and counselling

Walk-in services (during the following times)

If you do not have any symptoms (ie you don’t think anything is wrong) and would like to have a sexual health screen and/or need simple contraception (eg not an implant or a coil) you can walk in to Floor 1 without an appointment during the times below (please note these times may vary at times of high demand).

This is on a first come first served basis. We operate a slot system where you may be asked to come back later or the next day.

  • Mon/Tue: 9am–5pm
  • Wed: 1–5pm
  • Thu: 8:30am–4pm
  • Fri: 8:30–11am

We can only see a limited number of patients per day. To avoid disappointment, please arrive as early as possible.

  • Limited emergency appointments for people needing to be seen urgently
  • Rapid HIV testing
  • Free condoms
  • Provision and follow-up of Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) for prevention of HIV infection
  • Emergency contraception/morning after pill
  • Cont@ct2 for young people aged 17 and under (click on link for walk-in times)
  • Simple contraception:
    • Depo provera injections

    • Contraceptive patches
    • Pregnancy testing

If you are having sexual health tests, please do not pass urine for at least 1 hour before your appointment.

We do not provide HPV testing, HPV vaccines, breast examinations or routine cervical screening.

    Walk-in sexual health & hepatitis screening for homeless people without symptoms—available Thursdays 10am–12 noon at St Mungos Market Place
