Imaging services—clinical and diagnostic

What we do

We provide an extensive array of radiology services to assist in the diagnosis of trauma and disease. We carry out thousands of examinations each year and see patients from A&E, outpatient clinics, hospital wards and via GP referrals. We have a wide variety of the latest equipment to help us provide the best quality diagnostic services for patients and make the most of modern technology wherever possible.

The imaging service at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital is accredited by the Imaging Services Accreditation Scheme (ISAS).

  • Echocardiogram and electrocardiogram testing (see Cardiology)
  • Exercise and lung function tests
  • Nerve conduction studies

Our team

The team at Chelsea and Westminster is led by Dr Margaret Phelan, Clinical Director, and Mr Alan Kaye, Radiology Department Manager. The West Middlesex team is led by Dr Catherine Ramsey, Divisional Director, who is supported by a wider group of radiographers, consultants, nurses and healthcare assistants.

West Middlesex University Hospital

Our main department is based on the ground floor of the hospital, on the left-hand side beyond the pharmacy. Some of our scanning takes place elsewhere in the hospital, but you will be advised of this when you are referred to our service (eg maternity scanning takes place in our dedicated maternity unit).

Mon–Fri, 8am–7:45pm

South Westminster Centre

Mon–Fri, 9am–1pm and 2–4:45pm

West Middlesex University Hospital 

We are open from Monday to Friday, between 8am and 5pm. For pre-booked appointments we are also open on Saturday and Sunday between 9am and 4pm.
