About us

Chelsea and Westminster Intensive Care Unit has 11 beds which provide critical care facilities for level 3 and level 2 patients.
Care is provided by a designated anaesthetic, nursing and support team with a strong emphasis on the provision of a high quality, patient-centred service.
Nursing care is provided by a total of 60 nurses who are focused on the provision of family-centred care through primary nursing, so that staff provide a highly personalised service.
Medical cover is provided by six consultants.
The Trust also has a critical care outreach team which is lead by a consultant nurse.
The ICU is a nationally recognised nursing development unit. It was awarded the Charter Mark for service delivery in 1998, 2001 and 2004.
