Profile
Clare completed medical training at Imperial College and ophthalmic surgery training in the London Deanery. She completed a fellowship in paediatric ophthalmology at Great Ormond Street Hospital. She treats general adult ophthalmology patients including cataract, uncomplicated glaucoma and dry eyes as well as both general and more complex paediatric eye conditions. She has a PhD in automated analysis of retinopathy of prematurity, a potentially blinding disease of babies born preterm, and has been invited to speak on this topic widely. She is an honoary senior lecturer in computer science at UCL and has founded a company (www.retvas.com), funded in part by hospital charity CW+, to further research into innovative ways of screening for blinding conditions in children and adults.
