Staying in hospital
Staying in hospital can be an isolating experience so on The Chelsea Wing we have dedicated staff who will visit you twice a day. They offer support, the opportunity to run errands, or are there just for a friendly chat.
All patient rooms on the unit have ensuite bathroom facilities. Patients are looked after by trained nurses supported by healthcare assistants. All patients are admitted under the care of a consultant with the support of their team.
Good food is key to a successful recovery. All patients are nutritionally assessed on admission to the ward to ensure special dietary needs can be met. Our chefs will prepare your food in a dedicated kitchen. Our menu is varied on a three-week cycle to add variety to those patients staying with us for a longer period of time.
All patients and relatives are welcome to telephone The Chelsea Wing at any time should they have any concerns or queries. Alternatively, there are phones in each room for patients to use for local calls and incoming calls. There are no additional charges for this service.
Visitors are welcome throughout the day and may stay with you overnight by agreement with the Ward Sister.
We will treat you like a guest as well as a patient.
