Welcome from the Chief Executive

I am delighted to introduce this directory which provides GPs and other healthcare professionals with up-to-date information about the services provided by Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Given the choice and complexity of services offered by hospitals in London, we have aimed to provide concise, easy-to-access information about the services we offer and the healthcare professionals who provide them.

The challenges set out in the 2010 Government White Paper, Equity and excellence: Liberating the NHS, present primary and secondary care with the opportunity to collaborate more closely than ever in the provision of patient care pathways.

We have worked in partnership with GPs in the development of several community services and the GP-led Urgent Care Centre which opened in our A&E department in October 2010.

We are committed to improving access to and communication with our services and consultants.

This year we are working towards the full utilisation of Choose and Book for referrals, and its advice and guidance function, to provide a communication channel between healthcare professionals.

For the majority of clinical queries, communication through Choose and Book is the best solution but there are times when more immediate advice is required. This year we will be introducing a new mobile phone system enabling GPs to speak directly to a consultant.
