Small Change Big Impact

Hospital charity CW+ is giving staff and patients the power to make positive changes in the hospital. Whether it’s equipment, furniture, support for patients or enhancements to the environment, they can help you to get your ideas off the ground.

Last year they gave just over £30,000, funding 26 projects in the hospital. Examples include mindfulness and yoga sessions for Multiple Sclerosis (MS) patients, art therapy books for inpatients and resources for group sessions on our stroke ward.

We funded a trolley with sensory equipment (pictured at top) which can be wheeled into cubicles pre- and post-surgery to support children.

"The process was so quick and simple. Within a week of making the application I received an email from the charity letting me know it had been approved. I was over the moon. Children often arrive at the ward feeling anxious or stressed about their procedure, or they may have additional needs which can affect their ability to cope well in a hospital environment. The sensory trolley will be a wonderful asset to support such patients and make their time in hospital a positive one.”
