Local services for people with learning disabilities

Community Learning Disability Teams provide support and specialist advice to people with learning disabilities and their families and carers.

These teams are also the main gateways for community care assessments and social care services for people with a learning disability, and respite services for carers.

The teams are multi-disciplinary and include the following staff:

  • Social workers
  • Community nurses
  • Occupational therapists
  • Physiotherapists
  • Community support workers
  • Clinical psychologists
  • Psychiatrists
  • Speech and language therapists
  • Dietitians
