Suspension of industrial action – services run as normal next week

The British Medical Association (BMA) has suspended the industrial action planned for the week of 12 September. This means that all services will run as normal – if you have an appointment or planned operation booked for next week please be assured that it will go ahead as detailed in your appointment letter.

This means that all services will run as normal – if you have an appointment or planned operation booked for next week please be assured that it will go ahead as detailed in your appointment letter.

The BMA has indicated that strikes in October, November and December will go ahead as planned. The planned strike dates are from 8am to 5pm on:

  • Wednesday 5 October to Tuesday 11 October (although the weekend will be covered)
  • Monday 14 November to Friday 18 November
  • Monday 5 December to Friday 9 December

If you are a patient with an appointment or planned operation booked during any of the dates for planned strikes in October, November and December please refer to this website for further updates.
