RideLondon—Sunday 31 July road closures

On the 30 and 31 July, Prudential RideLondon, a world-class festival of cycling, is taking place in central London and Surrey.  On Saturday 30 July the Freecycle is taking place around central London and on Sunday 31 July the RideLondon Surrey 100, RideLondon-Surrey 46 and RideLondon Classic take place throughout London and Surrey.

Although the Fulham Road is not closed this year, the Chelsea and Westminster hospital site is surrounded by road and bridge closures for the majority of the day on Sunday 31 July, as the route goes from The Mall along the A4 and then back over Putney Bridge along King’s Road, Cheyne Walk and Chelsea Embankment. During the race, access to the Fulham Road is restricted and many bridges across the Thames will be closed to vehicles. Pedestrian access is not affected, and trains and the underground will be running as normal, however bus routes will be affected.

We are fully committed to maintaining Trust operations over this period and access for urgent patients and traffic, including women in labour and burns patient referrals.  London Ambulance is working closely with RideLondon organisers to ensure ambulance access will be maintained. Parents who are expecting to give birth around that weekend should have been briefed by their community midwife with special details about how they can reach the hospital by car on the 31 July.

If you are planning to attend the hospital on that weekend, please plan your journey carefully in advance and be aware that road and bridge closures are likely to come into place several hours ahead of the event.
