Christmas Cheer and Best Decorated awards announced

Thank you to The Friends of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital who generously sponsored the Christmas Cheer and Best Decorated awards.

Christmas Cheer

	Emma Bartlett, Matron, Maternity: “Emma in her matron role goes above and beyond to support women and their families using our maternity services. She also goes above and beyond to support staff to ensure they can provide the best possible care. Emma is an excellent role model and always demonstrates professional behaviour which is in line with the trust values.”
	Gerrard Gummer, Senior Technician, Clinical Engineering: “This man always has a smile on his face and makes a point of greeting and talking to a large range of staff throughout the hospital, of which he knows by name over 300 staff members.”
	Lisa Fuller, Assistant Service Manager, HIV, GUM & Dermatology: “Lisa is an example to all of her team. She is hard working, positive and willing to undertake any task that helps the service with the minimum of fuss. She has transitioned into her new role as an Assistant Service Manager with no hesitation and deserves a huge amount of credit for bringing together our offsite clinic in Sutton. They now feel a lot more part of Chelsea and Westminster as a result of the work of Lisa.”
	Louise Magee, Clinical Area Manager, Outpatients: “For making our team feel so welcome when we moved into Outpatients and also for her ongoing help and support, always with a smile!”
	Mariza Flete, Ward Sister, David Evans Ward: “Mariza is unfailingly helpful and flexible, always goes the extra mile. In what has been a very pressured period she remains upbeat and cheerful and through her leadership this attitude is transmitted to her team who also demonstrate a 'can do' flexible approach.”

• Cezareo Nevado, Domestic Housekeeper, ISS: “Goes beyond his day to day work always offering support to the Estates & Facilities team, was a great help in the recent moves, staying late each evening and smiling the whole way through!”
• Katie Dawson, Senior Superintendent Radiographer, Radiology: “Katie always goes above and beyond for anybody, whether it is staff or patients. She is kind and caring and always approachable and I would trust her with my life. I have gone to her with problems before and she has always dropped everything to help me and I know for me that means a lot. She is one of the best hearted people I know and always goes without recognition or a thank you. Therefore I know this would mean the world to her.”
• Stefano Tomio, Senior Project Manager, IM&T: “Stefano always goes the extra mile to help his colleagues, is always able to help at short notice and always offers a solution.”

Christmas Cheer 

	Agnes Jia, Senior Sister, SCBU: “As a Senior Sister in the ward and mostly manages the ward by itself, Agnes has shown her leadership with understanding to all of her colleagues. You can count on her if the unit is understaffed and works at weekends despite the fact she has worked weekdays. She's approachable and sensitive to her colleagues needs.”
	Dermatology Nurses: “Our dermatology nurses are some of the most hardworking group of nurses I have worked with. They are constantly run off their feet and always put the patient first. They are an extremely kind and caring group and I am sure a Cheer Award would help them know and feel that their hard work is recognised!”
	Ameeta Padaruth, Clinic Support Worker, Outpatients: “Ameeta goes above and beyond in the care of my patient in outpatients. She greets everyone with a smile and all patients love her. She very caring and genuinely loves her job. Without her the clinics would not run as smoothly or be filled with as much joy.  She deals with patients so well, they respect and like her and miss her when she is not there. A true credit to the hospital and loved by all.”
	Dr Ashkan Sadighi, Acute Medicine Consultant: “Dr Sadighi demonstrates great leadership skills. He has a helpful and positive attitude, and is always willing to go above and beyond to help patients. He is a fanstatic role-model to his colleagues.”
	Lisa Newbury, Senior Sister A&E: “Lisa is the life and soul of our A&E department, when the ship is sinking, she pulls it back together and gets everybody on board, her hard work and dedication should be recognised.”

• Agata Mruz, Staff Nurse, Syon 1: “Patients consistently give me feedback that she is amazing and she always goes out of her way to ensure the patients are treated with compassion, dignity and respect. Consultants comment on her diligence and that she ensures high standards of care are met. The team find her very supportive and student nurses comment she is an excellent teacher.”
• Dr Alidz Pambakian, Neurology Consultant: “Dr Pambakian  has always  been there for me and the patients. She always has supported me, as a colleague and as a patient. She has been very caring and understanding. She is always there to care for her patients. Her patients always say good things about her. She goes out of her way to help others and she is my angel, wiping my tears when I am in pain and when I am sad.”
