We were delighted to feature in a recent literature review on the impact of environment on children and young people’s experience of healthcare.

We were delighted to feature in a recent literature review on the impact of environment on children and young people’s experience of healthcare.

The review examines how environmental factors affect how children feel about the care and treatment they receive. It underlines the importance of involving young people in the planning, design and implementation of child-friendly environments to help reduce stress for young people and their families, and improve their ability to cope with illness.

Hospital Play Team Manager, Rachel Fitzpatrick, is quoted in a case study on the importance of providing an environment that promotes play and recreation, colourfully illustrated by a series of photographs of Chelsea and Westminster staff interacting with children at the hospital.
