On Sunday 13 April, Richard Ingrey, service manager for medicine at West Middlesex University Hospital, ran the London Marathon in support of Diabetes UK for a second year in a row.

He finished the course in a time of four hours and four minutes; 45 minutes faster than last year, much to his surprise. Richard and his partner, Gerry, who finished in just three hours and 44 minutes, hoped to raise £4,000 for Diabetes UK. So far they have raised just under £3,500. If you wish to support Richard’s marathon effort, please visit his fundraising page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/gerryandrichard

Obstetric Doctctor, Srdjan Saso will also be testing his stamina this month when he takes part in the Tough Mudder Challenge to raise money for the hospital’s Stork Appeal.

The Tough Mudder Challenge is a 12 mile obstacle course involving running through mud, crawling underneath barbed wire, wading through ice, climbing up walls and along monkey bars, and so on.

Donations to the Stork Appeal allow us to provide the very best care and facilities for our community, including practical elements such as birth aids as well as the chance to create a more homely and calm environment, by setting up improved relaxation areas and funding paintings and CD players for rooms.

This will help give women more choice during their pregnancy and make the experience of birth as private, comfortable and peaceful as possible for happier and healthier mothers and babies.

If you would like to support Srdjan and the Stork Appeal please donate
