‘Preventing pressure ulcers’ seminar highly rated

On Thursday 25 September Tissue Viability Nurse Sarah Masterson presented a seminar to members about preventing pressure ulcers.

On Thursday 25 September Tissue Viability Nurse Sarah Masterson presented a seminar to members about preventing pressure ulcers. The presentation explained to members how they can minimise the chances of getting pressure ulcers, signs to look out for and how they are treated. Preventing pressure ulcers is a quality priority for this Trust and therefore a key area of work.

The presentation was very well received and feedback from attendees showed:

  • 100% found the presentation useful
  • 100% found the presentation easy to understand
  • 100% agree that they now know more about preventing pressure ulcers than they did before

Comments included:

  • “Have learnt a great deal”

The next Medicine for Members seminar is about falls and fracture prevention and is taking place on Thursday 13 November at 5:30pm in the Postgraduate Lecture Theatre on the Lower Ground Floor. Emer Bouanem (Clinical Nurse Specialist for Orthopaedics) and Natasha Booton (Falls Therapy Link Worker) will be talking about the different types of hip fractures, treatment options, bone health assessments and falls prevention. There will also be an opportunity to try a bone strengthening exercise.
