Five players from Brentford Football Club, including captain Tony Craig made a special visit to the Sunlight and Starlight children’s wards at West Middlesex University Hospital on Tuesday 23 December.

Taking time out of their schedule, Tony, along with teammates Jonathan Douglas, Sam Saunders, Stuart Dallas and Nico Yennaris brought presents donated by players, staff and supporters and spent time taking photos and talking with patients and their families. With just two days to go before Christmas, the visit was warmly received by patients, families and staff.

Tracy Armstrong, Paediatric Modern Matron, said: “We were thrilled to welcome Brentford FC to our wards. It really lifted the children’s spirits and it was lovely to see the smiles on their faces. Visits like this are really special and I would like to thank the club for giving up their time so generously and for the lovely donation of gifts.”

Brentford captain Tony Craig said:   ”All the players were keen to do something for the kids who will not be able to spend Christmas at home with their loved ones. We are only too conscious of the support we receive from the local community as a whole, and this is a small way of giving something back”.
