Twitter evening in A&E—Saturday 4 February

We will be tweeting live from A&E this Saturday night. You can join the conversation this Saturday 4 February from 8pm–1am at www.twitter.com/chelwestft.

The aim of the event is to raise awareness about what happens in A&E on a busy evening. Saturday nights are traditionally busy and many people arrive in A&E with alcohol-related injuries.

Dr Patrick Roberts (Lead Clinician for A&E) commented: “I accept that drinking is one outlet for releasing stress. However, I encourage people to understand their limits and know when they should stop.”

The latest statistics from the NHS Information Centre show that there are more than 1 million alcohol-related admissions to hospital each year.
