A sexual health doctor at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital has been sharing his expertise with the Somali community.

Dr Mohammed Abdulcadir, a long-serving Associate Specialist at John Hunter Clinic for Sexual Health, is a passionate advocate of community education and has recently been giving talks on Hepatitis B, HIV, Syphilis and sexual health awareness to the Somali community in his spare time.

Dr Abdulcadir says: “I feel this is important because the Somali population has one of the highest Hepatitis B infection rates (between 10% and 20% of the population).

“My advice is for everyone to have a test before having any relationships so that they are aware of the how this infection is transmitted, sexually and by other means.”
