QPR fans took the chance to get their health checked out before their Barclays Premier League match against Aston Villa on Sunday 25 September.

A total of 19 patients were seen by staff on Chelsea and Westminster’s mobile community health clinic which was parked up outside Canberra Health Centre on South Africa Road for health advice and Well Person Testing on the way to the game.

The clinic was run in partnership with QPR in the Community Trust whose representative Fiona Hodgson says: “Health is one of our key aims as a charity and we wish to provide the local community and our fans with opportunities to take positive action to manage their health.”

Stephanie McMillan, Acting Nurse Practitioner for Young People & Outreach at West London Centre for Sexual Health—which is run by Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust at Charing Cross Hospital—said: “This is the first time we have run a matchday clinic at QPR and we were really pleased with the response, seeing 19 people of whom 13 were men. We know men are less likely than women to visit their GP or hospital to get themselves checked out which is why we are taking our services on the road. Any QPR fans who didn't catch us on Sunday can come and us before the forthcoming home games against Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United.”
