David Erskine Ward at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital was transformed into a blushing shade of pink on Friday 29 October as ward staff, patients and their visitors all dressed the part for ‘Wear it Pink Day’ to raise money for the charity Breast Cancer Campaign.

Lesley-Anne Marke, Sister on David Erskine Ward, said: “We were delighted to have raised £550 for the charity thanks to the generosity of everyone who visited the ward to join in the fun.

“Nursing staff gave up their traditional blue uniforms for the day to wear special pink scrub suits and patients on the ward wore pink gowns.

“Lots of people showed their support by donating cakes for our morning tea, which of course included plenty of pink cupcakes for sale.

“I’m sure most of us can think of someone whose life has been affected by breast cancer and this was our way of supporting the charity and their amazing work.”
