Several hundred Foundation Trust members, including many staff, attended Chelsea and Westminster’s Annual Members’ Meeting on Thursday 16 September.

They heard presentations from speakers including Trust Chairman Professor Sir Christopher Edwards, Chief Executive Heather Lawrence OBE, Finance Director Lorraine Bewes and Foundation Trust Governor Sandra Smith-Gordon.

Members attending the meeting were also able to watch an excerpt from a Channel 5 documentary about the work of the charity Facing the World which reconstructs the faces of children from developing countries and transforms their live. It was introduced by craniofacial surgeons Simon Eccles and Niall Kirkpatrick who featured in the documentary.

There was also a lively question and answer session which gave members an opportunity to quiz the Board of Directors about a wide range of issues.

Members gave their instant feedback on the meeting with the Patient Experience Tracker (PET) devices which are now used throughout the hospital to enable patients to give their views on their care – the results were very positive:

  • 92% rated the meeting as ‘Excellent’ or ‘Good’
  • 83% said the meeting had improved their view of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital

The Trust would like to thank all staff involved in the organising of the annual meeting which is a real team effort involving everyone from the St Stephen’s Volunteers on the Welcome Desk to the ISS Mediclean catering staff who provided refreshments afterwards.

  • The Annual Members' Meeting 2011 will take place at 5:30pm on Thursday 15 September 2011—more details to follow nearer the time
