Research & Development Open Day—Wednesday 24 June, 10am–4pm

12 June 2009

The annual Research & Development Open Day is an opportunity for staff, patients and the local community to find out how patients’ lives are being improved by research at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

The annual Research & Development Open Day is an opportunity for staff, patients and the local community to find out how patients’ lives are being improved by research at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. Following the success of last year’s event, which more than 250 people attended, this year promises to be even bigger and better.

The day will include a number of themed posters and related interactive demonstrations highlighting the wide variety of high quality research at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

The posters will describe the journey of patients with various conditions and show how research has been involved in improving their care and quality of life.

Stuart Green, Research & Development Assistant who is organising the Open Day, said: “We want to encourage patients and the public to become involved in research projects by sharing their experiences with us.

“There are various ways to get involved from filling in surveys that will help decide the type of research we do, to working alongside researchers to make sure healthcare developments are going to improve patients’ experience in hospital.

“As well as posters and interactive demonstrations and activities there will also be refreshments, and an opportunity to meet researchers and find out what’s happening in your hospital.”
