Denise Watson, Paediatric Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Practitioner at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, has been shortlisted for a News of the World Children’s Champion Award.

Denise was one of only five finalists shortlisted for the medical category which aims to recognise people who have gone the extra mile to make a difference to a child’s life.

She leads the Ponseti team at Chelsea and Westminster which treats children born with clubfoot. The Ponseti method provides an alternative to major surgery to treat children born with this condition.

Denise was nominated by Deborah Wiggs, who is the mother of one of her patients.

Deborah says: “Denise has helped my son so much. He is on a long road to recovery but without her my son would not be able to walk. She really is one of a kind.”
