The first ‘virtual tour’ of a sexual health clinic has been launched by youth charity YouthNet – featuring the John Hunter Clinic in the St Stephen’s Centre at Chelsea and Westminster.

The online tour can be viewed by young people visiting TheSite.org, YouthNet’s website guide to life for 16 to 24-year-olds, which aims to bridge the gap in current sex education for youngsters.

Staff nurses Vikki Finch and Edith John, who both work in the John Hunter Clinic, are featured in the virtual tour which aims to inform young people about what to expect if they visit a sexual health clinic.

Fiona Dawe, Chief Executive of YouthNet, says: “Sexual health is the second most popular discussion topic on TheSite.org and we know there is a lot of uncertainty about what sexual health screening involves.

“With the virtual tour young people can see for themselves what’s behind the doors of a sexual health clinic, hopefully dispelling the myths surrounding sexual health testing and encouraging more young people to get tested.”
