A brand new easy access sexual health service for people with learning disabilities – the Pearl Service – has been launched at the West London Centre for Sexual Health, Charing Cross Hospital.

It is believed to be the first dedicated sexual health service for people with learning disabilities.

The Pearl Service has already won the Tracey Harrow Award for Innovation from Hammersmith and Fulham PCT who are Chelsea and Westminster’s partners on the project.

Ceri Evans, Senior Sexual Health Adviser, has led the development of the service with colleagues from the PCT Learning Disability Team and also people with learning disabilities who helped choose the name Pearl.
