Nominations are now being invited for members of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust to stand for election to 2 vacant seats on its Members’ Council.

Nominations are now being invited for members of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust to stand for election to 2 vacant seats on its Members’ Council.

The vacancies are for the following constituencies:

  • Public members of the Foundation Trust who live in the constituency of Kensington and Chelsea Area 1
  • Public members of the Foundation Trust who live in the constituency of Kensington and Chelsea Area 2

Foundation Trust members in these constituencies are invited to nominate themselves as candidates in the forthcoming election.

As a Foundation Trust, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital is more accountable to the local community and its staff through its membership – which now totals more than 13,000 - and the Members’ Council.

Members’ Council representatives work with the Board of Directors as a ‘critical friend’, helping to shape the way the Trust develops its services.

The Council has 34 members and the Chairman including 10 patient members, 8 public members (2 each from the boroughs of Kensington and Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham, Wandsworth and City of Westminster) and 6 staff members drawn from all areas of the hospital. It also includes 10 representatives from partnership organisations.
