The Health Foundation today announced that Amit Khutti, Director of Strategy and Service Planning at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, is to receive its much coveted and competitive Leadership Fellows award. Only 16 applicants in total were selected to take part in the scheme and all are regarded by The Health Foundation as having the potential to become future leaders in the NHS and make an outstanding contribution to improving the quality of healthcare in the UK.

Amit, through the Leadership Fellows award scheme, will benefit from two years of high quality leadership development delivered via a mixture of one-to-one coaching sessions, group seminars and workshops.  The award scheme also provides the opportunity for all participants to receive tailor-made training and personalised support.

Jan Walmsley, Assistant Director for Leadership at The Health Foundation said, “We invest in developing the leadership skills of individuals with demonstrable potential to direct quality improvement in healthcare.  Amit proved himself to be a highly motivated, talented professional dedicated to improving patient services. I am certain that through our Leadership Fellows award we have identified 16 healthcare professionals with the ability to become effective, inspirational leaders within the NHS.”

Amit said, “I believe that participating in the Leadership Fellows programme will help me to gain deeper insights into my own approach to leadership, and help grow my confidence as a future leader within the NHS.”

About the Health Foundation

The Health Foundation wants to make the quality of healthcare in the UK the best it can be. Working with others, we are helping to shape a future healthcare system that offers safe, effective and responsive care for all.

We are a charitable foundation and operate independently from government, political parties or other interest groups. Our endowment enables us to spend at least £20 million annually. We seek out the best people in healthcare and support them to learn and share with others. Through projects, research and evaluation studies we test and measure new ways of improving health services for the future. We seek to influence healthcare decision-makers so that we achieve sustainable and widespread improvements in the quality of patient care.
