Shreena Tailor, an Embryologist under the supervision of Dr Paula Almeida in our Assisted Conception Unit, was awarded the Best Pre-Registration Oral Presentation at the recent International Conference Centre for Fertility 2017.

This was the tenth joint fertility meeting organised by the Association of Clinical Embryologists, the British Fertility Society and the Society for Reproduction and Fertility. It offers a programme of the latest scientific advances in fertility, sexual health and reproductive biology.

Shreena said of her award: “This is a great achievement for both myself and for the ACU as it shows that we are continually participating in research and advancing our knowledge to provide the best possible care for our patients.”

Shreena presented on the topic Does the additional transfer of a poor quality blastocyst affect clinical outcome. This served to highlight the evidence-based ethos of the ACU at Chelsea and Westminster which leads them to continually deliver success rates of 48.5% compared to the national average of 38.3% for patients under 35 years.
