Contact us early advice for pregnant women—August 1 and 2

23 July 2015

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital is advising pregnant women to make early contact with midwives if they believe they are going into labour during the weekend of August 1 and 2 2015.

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital is advising pregnant women to make early contact with midwives if they believe they are going into labour during the weekend of August 1 and 2 2015.

The advice is being given because of the expected disruption to accessing the hospital by roads and bridges caused by the Prudential Ride London event.

On Sunday August 2, in particular, several bridges will be closed which could impact on women living in Battersea and Wandsworth who are booked to give birth at Chelsea and Westminster.

The hospital is advising any woman who believes they are going into labour during the two days to call the hospital on 020 315 6000 (option 1) and speak to the maternity triage officer who will assess the woman’s condition and advise whether or not to stay at home or come in early.
