Equality Objectives

In accordance with the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED) of the Equality Act 2010, the Trust has developed its equality objectives for 2012–2017. The purpose of setting objectives is to strengthen our performance of the general equality duty. The development of the equality objectives has been aligned to the business of the organisation and will be aligned with the NHS Equality Delivery System goals and outcomes.

The equality information available to the Trust has been analysed and equality objectives have been developed to bring focused attention to the priority equality issues within the organisation.

The objectives will be monitored regularly by the Trust Equality and Diversity Steering Group. Each financial year we will produce an annual report which will highlight developments and provide analysis of equality information for patients and workforce to indicate progress in meeting our objectives or suggest new equality objectives where improvements are needed.

Further consultation and analysis will be carried out with all stakeholders in the coming months to develop additional service and patient related equality objectives.
