Chelsea and Westminster Health Charity
Chelsea and Westminster Health Charity is the NHS charity that raises funds for Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. The Charity has launched the Children's Sunshine Appeal to raise £5 million for the new Paediatric Centre at Chelsea and Westminster—find out more.
The Charity’s purpose is to help improve the health of people living in London. It enhances the quality and range of healthcare for patients, and supports health education and healthy living in the local communities.
The Charity does not replace, but supplements, core NHS funding. It also owns and maintains the collection of art for which the hospital is renowned and it integrates the arts and medical treatment within a welcoming environment.
The Charity aims to support patients, their families and carers, both today and in the future.
Through generous donations, Chelsea and Westminster Health Charity is able to support numerous clinical and non-clinical projects at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
The Charity has funded:
- A second CT scanner
- An ultrasound endoscope
- Northwest London CLAHRC (Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care) research project to improve the patient experience
- Pharmacy robot
- 2 incubators for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
- An art gallery on the first floor of the hospital
- Live performances of music in the hospital’s atrium and the wards
- Summer workshops for the hospital’s children wards and Hospital School
- Research into the effects of the arts in healthcare
- Chelsea and Westminster Health Charity Research Fellowships
The Charity identifies opportunities and encourages fundraising through community involvement and events to benefit not only hospital patients, but also those living in the surrounding areas. Please support your hospital generously.
